- Decarbonisation is a driver of TagEnergy’s business model.
- At TagEnergy, we share a passion for clean energy and solutions to tackle climate change. By reducing fossil fuel dependency and accelerating renewables, we aim to enable future generations to enjoy a cleaner, more sustainable world.
- We conducted Life Cycle Analyses for the Hawkers Hill BESS site (2023) and Golden Plains Wind Farm (2024), and we compute TagEnergy’s carbon footprint (Scopes 1, 2, and 3).
Sustainability
Decarbonisation
Biodiversity
- Biodiversity impacts are carefully assessed during project screening and monitored throughout operations.
- Impact analysis and improvement indicators drive our biodiversity preservation efforts.
- Internal training programs, including biodiversity workshops, strengthen awareness internally of the importance of nature and ecosystems.
- We have acquired 1223ha of land in Victoria, Australia to co-finance a foundation aiming at protecting the Southern Brolga crane, a species in decline in Victoria and listed as endangered. The objective is to provide additional breeding habitat for the crane and deliver a wetland enhancement program on the land.
Diversity & Education
- We believe that education is key in our work towards energy transition: raising awareness on climate change and helping to build a solid scientific understanding will align people’s objectives in tackling environmental issues.
- We play an active role in integrating greater diversity into the sector throughout various scholarships and educational partnerships through our “Women in Energy” and “Future Leaders” programmes (Imperial College London, University of New South Wales Sydney, Instituto Superior Técnico Lisboa, Elles Bougent France).
Our impact on local communities
- At TagEnergy, supporting local communities is a core part of how we develop and operate our assets.
- We believe that clean energy infrastructure should create shared value, not only by delivering low-carbon power but also by contributing to the well-being and resilience of the areas where we are present.
- By partnering with nearby communities and investing in local initiatives, we help ensure that our projects generate tangible, long-term benefits, economic, social, and environmental.
- This close engagement is important to us, to strengthen local relationships, and foster a collaborative approach to energy transition, making our presence responsible, and deeply rooted in the territories that host our sites.
Over $6.5 million
will be donated to the community
through the life of the project.
A Community Grant Programme on our Golden Plains wind farm project in Australia
- The Golden Plains Wind Farm team works closely with landholders, immediate neighbours and the community to engage and identify opportunities to improve and share the benefits of the Project.
- The program is open to a range of community purposes and needs including health and social welfare, safety, environmental, educational, youth projects, sport and recreation, culture, the arts and economic development.
A community funding partnership supporting local projects around sites in the UK
- In the UK, we have partnered with a dedicated community-focused platform to help promote our funding programme to a wider range of local groups, ensuring that as many local actors as possible can benefit from and take part in the positive impacts of our projects.
- Through this partnership, local communities can easily access information and apply for financial support for initiatives related to decarbonisation, biodiversity protection, diversity, education via the promotion of renewable energy and sustainability.
